Redeeming Manna Food Pantry
Christ Church is excited to be the new host for the Redeeming Manna food pantry. This food ministry began as a mobile food rescue group salvaging food that local stores were going to throw away. After a couple of years we became a mobile food pantry and then later merged with College Avenue Baptist food pantry around 2020.
Today, we receive food primarily from Midwest Food Bank along with a few other donors. A local vending company, some school classrooms, and even local hunters generously donate throughout the year.
We serve individuals and families in Bloomington/Normal and into surrounding communities. Our vision is to support those who are experiencing food insecurity and even hardworking families who simple struggle to make ends meet. It is our hope that by providing food support, it would enable individuals to more easily afford other necessities (housing, clothing, medical, etc.).
Intake Process (Who Qualifies?)
Anyone can request food on a one-time basis, no questions asked. If someone would like to receive ongoing food support there is a general income guideline based on household size to qualify. We also make exceptions to the financial guidelines for those who volunteer and for special circumstances on a case-by-case basis. This could include: a house fire, medical emergency, natural disaster or other extenuating circumstances.

The food pantry will be set up each month at our youth house, just east of our main church building. Distribution days are always on a Thursday, either the first or second week of the month. Please see the following dates for the rest of 2024 and all of 2025.
